Arielle Allen teaches social studies in the low incidence program. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Michigan State University and a Master’s of Education degree from DePaul University. She enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family and her dog Winnie.

  Christina Clemons
Christina Clemons teaches in one of the Severe & Profound Special Education classrooms. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Film & Video from Columbia College and an M.A. in Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has previously taught at the Misericordia Developmental Training Program for Adults with Disabilities. She is a sponsor of the Lane Buddies Club and enjoys cooking, crafting, photography/ video in her spare time. She has traveled to Europe, North Africa & India, and her favorite holiday spot is Spain.

  Kelley Deutsch
Kelley Deutsch co-teaches Chemistry and also a separate class called Reading Workshop. She has a B.S. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and an M.A. in Education-Reading Specialist degree from DePaul University. Her other interests are reading, cooking, and baking. She has traveled to Switzerland, France, Alaska, Mexico, Italy, Colorado, and Florida.

  Allison Deweese
Ali Deweese co-teaches the Independent functioning class in the cluster program. She has a B.S. in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Her previous teaching experience was at a charter high school where she taught a Resource class, co-taught World Studies, U.S. History and Physics, and was the Case Manager. She is a sponsor of the Lane Buddies Club and enjoys baking, scrapbooking, and visiting family in Michigan in her free time. Her favorite traveling experience was to the Bahamas.

  Teresa Giannelli
Terry Giannelli (NBCT) teaches separate instructional classes in Geometry, Advanced Algebra with Trigonometry, and Financial Algebra. She has a B.S. in Finance from DePaul University and an M.A. in Education-Special Needs, from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been accepted as a Project SET candidate and is working on her LBS II as a transition specialist. Currently, she is Chairperson of the S.L.E.D. (Student-Led Engine of Determination) Transition Committee which promotes positive post-secondary student outcomes for all students. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, gardening, and camping in her spare time.

  Jessica Huse
Jessica Huse teaches Reading class in the low incidence program. She has a B.A. in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University and has an M.A. as a Reading Specialist. She has prior experience working at Northside Learning Center. She is a sponsor of the Lane Buddies Club and enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dogs Atticus and Olivia in her spare time.

Megan Lorenz co-teaches in Environmental Science and Biology classes. She also teaches a Resource class this year. She has a B.S. in Special Education from the University of Dayton and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University. She is the Assistant Athletic Director, sponsor of the Lettermen Club and coaches Volleyball.

  Anna Mullin
Anna Mullin teaches math in the low-incidence program. She has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago and a M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has previously taught at Harvard Elementary School. She is the coach of the Special Olympics team at Lane Tech. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Riot. She loves to travel and her favorite destinations thus far are Paris, Tokyo, and Maui.

  Lauren Osada
Lauren Osada co-teaches Spanish I and Spanish II as well as a Resource class. She has a B.A. in Special Education and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University. Her interests are vegetarian cooking, hiking, and caring for her new puppy. She has traveled to Belize, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Michigan, and her favorite place, California.

  Kris Roof
Kris Roof co-teaches World Studies, U.S. History, and Contemporary American History. He has a B.A. from DePaul University in Secondary Education History, endorsements in Civics/Political Science, U.S. History and World History. He has a M.A. in Education Leadership and General Administration in addition to a M.A. in Reading and Learning Disabilities from DePaul University. He is head coach of the Boys & Girls Cross Country teams and also Boys Track & Field. His interests include spending time with his daughter/wife, travel and bicycling on international and cross-country trips. He has been to Russia, Australia, Puerto Rico and most of Europe.

  Cynthia Smith
Cynthia Smith team-teaches English I and III. She has a B.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, an M.A. in Reading, an M.A.in Professional Development, an M.A. in Administration & Supervision/ Type 75 from Loyola University, and an I.S.B.E. Director of Special Education Certificate from Northern Illinois University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher. She has experience coaching Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, and Girls & Boys Track. She has previous experience teaching in India, Hong Kong, China, Wisconsin, and Woodstock. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and social activism. She has traveled to Peru, Bolivia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Turkey, Canada, Europe, Egypt, India, China, England, Scotland, Scandinavia, and Mexico, and has participated in a human rights activity last summer in Honduras.

  Kimberly Tucki
Kimberly Tucki teaches in one of the Autism classrooms this year. She has a B.A. in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Her previous teaching experience was in Developmental Training at St. Mary of Providence. She is sponsor of the Lane Buddies Club and enjoys spending time with her puppies and volunteering at her church. She has traveled in several states within the U.S.

  David Yaffe
David Yaffe is the Department Chair of Special Services and Case Manager of the Special Education Department. He has a M.A. in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University in addition to a B.A. in Secondary Education- Comprehensive Social Studies from the University of Toledo. He has previous experience working at Lawrence Hall Youth Services in Chicago and also the Mayfair Achievement Program in Toledo. He enjoys running, biking, hiking, and Chicago Cubs baseball games, and has traveled to numerous national parks and Ireland.
