Women in Engineering Summer Program 2016

“The Women in Engineering Summer Program (WIESP) is 4 week, non-residential, summer program for high achieving female high school students who have an affinity for math, science, and/or engineering. Students who participate will have an opportunity to learn more about engineering through hands-on projects and field trips, and upon successful completion of the program, will earn a $500 stipend. WIESP will take place at UIC from June 27, 2016 – July 22, 2016 (Monday through Friday from 10am until 3pm).

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements, in order to be considered for admission:

  • Enter the 11th or 12th grade by Fall 2016
  • Overall GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Grades of As or Bs in math and science classes

Also, students must submit a student application form, a Teacher Evaluation form, and official transcripts. Once we identify potential candidates, we will schedule an on-campus interview with them. For more information please visit  http://wiep.engr.uic.edu/wiesp/ or contact me directly.
