Adler Planetarium Researchers

The Adler Planetarium is looking for a team of four student researchers–preferably 10th and 11th grade–to participate in their Far Horizons project, in which students design an actual experiment, design and build a sensor payload for a high-altitude balloon, launch the balloon, collect the data, and then report out their results. Students will work after school on seminar days during the spring semester (and will probably use some enrichment time, and one Saturday for the launch). This is a terrific entry to real science, it can also lead to paid internships and other opportunities down the road. Applications will be due on Thursday, January 9, at 4:00pm. More info about Far Horizons is at http://farhorizonsproject.com/blog/.
