Music Theory I is a class taught on the college level although not an AP course. It is a course to help any student interested in studying the academic side of music for fun, or majoring in music in college, to learn how musical ideas are transcribed and turned into that which we call music. Students begin with the very elementary, as with the musical staff, moving into scales, intervals, transcribing, transposing, and ending with the arranging of a piece of well-known music for at least four instruments. They will learn to sight sing and sing in tune. This course is open to all students. Students who are interested in this class will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge and enjoy the class.
