Transferring to Lane Tech

Lane is no longer accepting transfer applications for the 2016-2017 school year. Please check the website in April 2017 to find out if Lane will be accepting transfer applications for the 2017-2018 school year.

Incoming Freshmen

Lane Tech College Prep High School is a selective admissions school whose student body is chosen through a formula, which incorporates standardized test scores, academic grades, and the results of the entrance exam. Each year approximately 1,000 freshmen are chosen from more than 10,000 applicants. Students are encouraged to work with their elementary school counselor throughout the application process.

Test Dates

Test dates are scheduled for the following days: December 17, 2016, and January 21, 28, and February 4 of 2017. Students must sign up for a test date at
Walk-ins will not be eligible to take the exam.

Open House

Parents and students who would like more information about attending Lane Tech are invited to our annual Open House. Parents and guests do not need to register to attend Open House. At Open House, you will have the opportunity to listen to the principal speak, go on a guided tour of the building, receive an informational booklet, and be able to speak with teachers and counselors from all departments.

Open House is Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am for sixth grade students who are interested in the Academic Center (LTAC), and 12:00-3:00 pm for students who wish to attend high school at Lane Tech.
